Introducing our Doris Plum & Heritage Apple Chutney, an Augustines of Central creation that features nostalgic New Zealand flavours with an elevated twist. This NZ-made chutney blends time, skill and practice with the land's best natural ingredients—a spiced plum chutney with a sharp, tangy and aromatic flavour.

We grow our sweet heritage apples in-house at Augustines of Portobello and source our black doris plums from the stone fruit capital of New Zealand.

Since its launch last year, this handmade chutney has received high praise and has quickly established itself as an Augustines of Central fan favourite.

This chutney pays homage to the rich legacy of New Zealand's horticultural practices, passed down through generations. It heroes the familiar flavours of Otago while introducing refined elements that make it a quintessential Augustines of Central creation.

A little about our ingredients…

The black doris plums we use are ripened in the sunshine of Central Otago and handpicked by our friends at Moorpark & Mulberry Orchard. Black doris plums stand as a revered icon in the South Island. The beloved stone fruit was once commonplace in many Central Otago homes and has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, becoming one of New Zealand's bestselling fruit exports worldwide.

Known for their deep purple skin and juicy dark red flesh, their bold flavour captures the essence of hot and sticky Cromwell summers.

We grow our heritage apples from our base at Augustines of Portobello, enabling Gus to select apples at their peak ripeness. Like our preserves, chutneys and jams, our sweet heritage apples are grown organically to favour simplicity and quality.
